MV Covered Aerial Cable is an overhead insulated cable dedicated to medium voltage power transmission, with a rated voltage range of 1kV to 100kV. MV Covered Aerial Cable combines the characteristics of overhead conductors and underground cables, and has both power supply reliability and safety through the design of insulation layer (such as XLPE or EPR) and external protective layer. The typical structure includes single-core or multi-core conductors (such as aluminum or copper), and some models use a three-layer composite structure to enhance mechanical strength and weather resistance.
Conductor: Conductors are concentricallystranded,1350-H19 aluminum(either compressed or full
compact depending on conductor size)
Insulation layer: Available with inner layer of natural PE or XLPE and an outer layerof HDPE or XLPE
covering.
Shielding:Strand shield option available .Coverring up to 3 layers including the conductor shield
alongwith rise of voltage.
Standards:ANSl/lCEA Standard S-97-682.(Other National Standards can also be applied.)
Specification:Rare or special specification also available by yourreferred document or by your
sample.Copper conductor is also available.AAAC or ACSR or GSW Messanger is optional.
Used for primary and secondary overhead distribution where limited space is available or desirable for
rights of way.Installed as an uninsulated conductor.
Used as an overhead collection system when underground may not be an option.
Installed with other Covered Aerial MV cables and a supporting messenger through a series ofspace-
maintaining devices(spacers).
