2017-18 fiscal year Myanmar power investment gap of over 1.8 billion yuan
According to the Myanmar Times, to achieve the 2017-18 fiscal year power supply targets, the Myanmar government power investment gap of more than 300 billion Myanmar yuan.
Myanmar's Ministry of Electricity and Energy said that in the 2017-18 fiscal year, Myanmar needed electricity at 3,100 megawatts. In the current fiscal year, the Myanmar government expects revenue to reach 1.164 trillion Myanmar dollars, and spending about 1.541 trillion Burmese yuan, so the investment gap reached 376.64 billion Myanmar yuan.
Deputy Minister U Tun Naing said that in the last fiscal year, the government's investment in the transmission gap is about 337 billion Myanmar dollars.
In order to improve the supply capacity, Myanmar Ministry of Electricity and Energy continue to increase power generation, improve transmission and distribution infrastructure, to solve the last mile power supply problem.
In order to achieve the goal of the Myanmar government's 2017-18 year power supply, the World Bank is also helping the Myanmar government draft a tax rate program to promote the development of the power industry in Myanmar to reduce losses.
